BYTES SYSTEMS INTEGRATION WINS FROST AND SULLIVAN AWARD

FROST AND SULLIVAN AWARDBytes Systems Integration (SI) was awarded the Frost and Sullivan 2009 South African Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Competitive Strategy award at their African Excellence Awards Banquet held on Wednesday, 25 November 2009 at the Hilton Sandton Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Gerhard Greeff, divisional manager of process management and control at Bytes SI comments: “Frost & Sullivan’s recognition and award to Bytes SI affirms that the investment we have made in manufacturing information technology (IT) systems as an organisation in an environment that is often overlooked has been rewarded.  This forms part of our on-going initiative to align strategies in developing cohesive, cost effective and leading edge solutions in a traditionally mature and expensive environment.”

“We develop IT systems based on the analysis and requirements within manufacturing environments.  Furthermore there is a real need to ensure that these IT systems are able to continuously change and adapt to these surroundings. To avoid brain drain through employee loss, Bytes has developed a recruitment strategy that seeks to quickly replace any departing technician or engineer. The company also employs a sizeable number of junior staff, which it places on learnership programmes. Bytes SI therefore thank Frost & Sullivan for identifying the needs within manufacturing and urging to ensure that there are constant and credible solution providers. Bytes SI’s process management and control business unit have specialised in this field for the past fifteen years.  We are honoured to receive this award and accolade for our achievements and pay homage to our group and in particular to our engineers,” adds Greeff.

Frost and Sullivan awarded the System Integrator award to Bytes SI as it identified Bytes SI as a well-established participant within the South African MES market. As a part of the Bytes Technology Group Limited, Bytes SI is leveraged by being part of a diverse information technology group with a strong footprint within the South African market. Being a part of the group gives Bytes SI, credibility among end users, which has resulted in it catering to a wider client base within the South African process industries. Bytes SI has, therefore, developed a strong competitive strategy in the MES market through the formation of strategic partnerships, the implementation of successful client training programmes and the frequent publishing of thought-leadership articles.

Bytes SI’s focused approach helps it maintains its position as an industry leader and expert among its peers.
